CC&G Week 9 Posting - Managing Cloud Performance

 Managing Cloud Performance

In cloud environments, organizations must monitor their cloud applications and resources. Continuous monitoring is crucial as it can allow an organization to stay ahead of problems or miss them entirely. When monitoring their cloud environment, organizations can target specific metrics to make sure they are getting the most out of their cloud. Overall utilization includes storage, memory/CPU usage, and resource thresholds. Elasticity refers to the cloud environment's ability to scale up or down in response to changes in usage or evolving needs. Performance can be measured by looking at latency.
Monitoring tools can be used to present cloud data on dashboards. This makes monitoring easier for organizations. Dashboards can be customized to show what is most important for the organization. Analysts can use a few tips to ensure that the dashboard is working best. The information for any frequently asked question should be readily available within five seconds. If there are essential metrics or critical information, it should be placed at the top of the dashboard for easy viewing. Similar metrics should be grouped to facilitate easier understanding. Visualizations can also be used to present information but should be carefully crafted.
