 Challenges of AI & Machine Learning in the Cloud

    Both AI and Machine Learning (ML) have a lot to offer when it comes to benefitting a cloud environment. It is crucial, however, to be fully aware of the challenges and drawbacks that come with them. Understanding these challenges can help users and organizations get the most out of AI and ML in their cloud environment. 

    While AI automation looks to reduce the need for human interaction with the system, there are limits to what can be achieved with automation. There will always be a need for cloud/AI professionals. ML requires a large amount of data to operate. It can be challenging moving data from cloud environment to cloud environment in addition to getting the necessary bandwidth. Security concerns are also present as cloud computing environments as well as cloud-based AI can be public-facing and vulnerable to attacks.

    While these are only a few examples, cloud, AI, and ML are continuing to evolve and could face new challenges in the future. The demand for cloud, AI, and ML will only continue to rise, so it is vital that users and organizations completely understand the challenges AL and ML have. This can allow them to better serve their cloud environment and their customers.  

Wrap Up

    This course has provided valuable insight into cloud computing. Cloud is now extremely popular and is only expected to grow in demand. It is crucial to have a solid foundational understanding of cloud topics no matter what field of IT one plans to work in. I am still working in retail, but I plan to transition to the IT field within the next year. The topics and concepts that we covered in the course can help me towards certifications to make my career a reality. Cloud Computing & Governance serves as one of my two final IT courses for my degree. Next semester is my Kirkpatrick series and then Graduation!
