SH&NR Week 8 Posting - Automation in Cybersecurity
Automation in Cybersecurity
In the modern cybersecurity landscape, threats and bad actors are continuously changing and advancing. To keep up with that change, cybersecurity defenses looked to Artificial Intelligence (AI). AI enhances cybersecurity incident detection and response. Tasks like monitoring, collaboration between tools, and other low priority jobs can be handled by AI. That frees the cybersecurity professional up to focus on complex and high priority tasks and investigations. Predictive analytics can also be used to predict which vulnerabilities are the most likely to be exploited. This allows for proactive and efficient hardening and remediation of vulnerabilities. AI streamlines the incident response process by automating procedures, correlating data, and initiating response methods with minor help needed from human intervention. As cyber threats evolve and AI makes it easier for threat actors, AI is and will continue to be a cornerstone of cybersecurity.
