SH&NR Week 1 Posting - (Re)Introduction

 Reintroduction

I am very happy to be back in the saddle when it comes to blogging. I have done this with previous courses and planned on continuing afterwards. I fell short, but hopefully after this course I will be able to keep going. 

While progressing through my degree, I have mostly been focused on networking. I still find networking challenging and fascinating, but I have recently taken an interest in cybersecurity. Most of the concepts have been clicking for me faster than other areas of IT, so I hope that continues to happen. I do not have much cybersecurity experience, but I am working to change that. This semester I am taking System Hardening & Network Risk that focuses on content from the CySA+ certification. I am also taking the Google Cybersecurity certificate and studying for the ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity certification. My exam in June 12th, so hopefully by next week's post I will have a new certification! I really look forward to this course and its content. I am excited to share topics, concepts, hands-on projects, and more as I encounter them! For now I will leave you with my favorite quote regarding cybersecurity/ information security.
