Week 8 Posting - Introduction to Networking & My Linux Experience

Networking has been absolutely fascinating to learn about. What have enjoyed the most is learning what some of the things I have seen before actually mean. Even if you're not in the IT world, you are going to run into different parts of it as you use and access various tech. MAC addresses, Ethernet, CAT, and LAN are all topics that I have either heard about or had experience with in the past. I am looking forward to learning how all of these play a role in the big picture of networking.

So far my adventure through Linux has been going well. I chose to install PopOS because the installation video I watched used it. There is a "store" where applications and software can been immediately downloaded. The largest difference I have experienced so far is the File System. I have experience with both Mac and Windows File Systems, but it will take me some time to get used to how this one is set up. I have been doing some research to help me out. There's also the Terminal. For whatever reason, it seems scary to think about it. I'm sure it is just that I have no experience with command line process like that. I am looking into how the Terminal works. I have an issue with an application that I've discovered can be solved through the terminal. Once I feel comfortable enough with the Terminal, I will get that problem solved.
